Tapas Revolution to open Brighton site

Tapas Revolution operator Spanish Restaurant Group has announced it will be opening a new restaurant in the heart of Brighton this June. Taking over the former Bella Italia site next to Brighton Pavilion on North Street, the authentic and cool Spanish venue is expected to open its doors at the beginning of the month.
Offering an all-day dining experience, the 2884 sq ft 100-seater city centre venue will also feature a Spanish Terraza for up to 80 people to soak up the summer sun. While the menu stays true to traditional, authentic tapas, the look and concept is reminiscent of airy, modern day Barcelona or Ibiza.
Tapas Revolution opened its first restaurant in Westfield in 2010 and now operates eight other sites across the UK which are a mix of dine-at bars and restaurants. Brighton will be the brand’s fourth full restaurant concept, and further expansion plans are in the pipeline.
Spanish Restaurant Group MD James Picton said: “Spanish cuisine remains under-represented on the UK high street, which always surprises us considering Spain is one of the leading countries in the world for both Michelin star, diverse and exciting regional gastronomy. Our mission is to give more people the opportunity to enjoy an authentic taste of Spain on their doorstep. Brighton has an amazing food scene and is a great fit for the laid back, ingredient-focused lifestyle which tapas embodies. We’re on the lookout for further openings in the coming months, with a number of locations currently in discussion.”
Menu creation is led by Executive & Celebrity Chef Omar Allibhoy Cuende. The renowned Madrid-born chef is also developing a range of new vegan dishes for the Brighton site, serving the seaside city’s ethical and environmentally conscious dining culture, with ingredients sourced from local producers. Some of the feature dishes such as Albondigas En Salsa (Beetroot, oat and lentil albóndigas served in a rich tomato vegetable ‘sofrito’ sauce.) and Garbanzos Con Espinaca (Spiced chickpea stew with baby spinach, garlic and Spices) will sit alongside classics such as Tortilla, Croquetas de Jamon, Calamari and Chorizo cooked in Asturian cider.
The drinks list includes an extensive wine selection blending Spanish favourites from organic & biodynamic producers, including a partnership with local Sussex Sparkling wine producers Kingscote, featuring alongside a premium range of cervezas and cocktails.
