Traditional Tsiknopempti
Meraki, contemporary Greek restaurant in Fitzrovia, will be celebrating the traditional Tsiknopempti this Thursday 28th February. A popular Greek celebration prior to the beginning of Lent, the day revolves around feasting on grilled and barbequed meat ahead of the upcoming fasting period.
Meraki has put together a bespoke menu for the occasion, starting off with Lamb pie with a sour-chilli sauce (£6) followed by Giant spiced-pork skewer with charcoal-fired vegetables (£12). The main event is a spectacular Rib eye served on the bone, slowly grilled with Greek balsamic vinegar and rosemary for two people to share at £85. To finish, a light and refreshing pudding of Smooth yoghurt mousse with honeycomb and caramelised nuts (£7) will be served.
